Purpose

The purpose of the Awards Committee is to promote management as a profession by recognizing outstanding contributions of managers, to enhance desired managerial behavior by recognizing outstanding role models, and to create positive publicity for the region by interfacing, through the Awards Program of our chapter, with the external community.

Objective

Continue the established Awards Program and actively seek participation in this program from the chapter membership. Increase chapter participation in recognizing outstanding leadership within the region. Provide leadership and organization as NMA sponsors of the American Free Enterprise Speech Contest for area high school students.

Activities

Reevaluate the established awards and the criteria for these awards to encourage wider participation from the NMA membership. Organize and conduct the NMA-sponsored American Free Enterprise Speech Contest. Serve as jury chairs and solicit jury members to judge nominations for the established awards and scholarships.
