East Tennessee Leadership Chapter The National Management Association Developing the Leader in You! |
|---|---|
The purpose of the Public Relations Committee is to provide an effective member communications program to keep chapter members informed of NMA programs and activities and to increase awareness of NMA programs and goals. This happens by communicating information about chapter projects and meetings and member activities to local media and the community.
The committee objectives include:
The committee publishes at least one issue of Manager, the chapter newsletter, each quarter for distribution to all members. Manager contains information on chapter meetings, professional development programs, committee activities, community service programs, and activities of the national organization; reports from chapter officers; membership profiles; and other features.
Committee members also write articles and items for use in Weekly NewsWire, the management newsletter; BWXTymes, the employee newspaper; InsideLine, the daily electronic communication system; and ORNL Today, ORNL's new electronic communication system. A home page and related information is also maintained on the external information server for World Wide Web access.
Committee members write and disseminate releases and advisories to local media to encourage coverage of chapter activities, including meetings, community service programs, member activities, and other topics of interest.
The committee chair maintains regular contact with the chair of the other standing committees to remain abreast of all chapter activities and programs and to ensure that appropriate internal and external coverage are provided.
